Your shop
List my shop on Google
Connect your shop to Google Search Console to appear in search results: verification, sitemap and indexing times.
Winslor automatically generates everything Google needs to index your shop (sitemap, tags, product data). There’s just one manual step left, which you only need to do once: prove to Google that the shop belongs to you, then submit the sitemap. It takes 5 to 10 minutes — all you need is a Google account.
What Winslor does for you
- Sitemap: a list of all your pages, products and categories, in your languages. Updated continuously.
- Robots.txt file: allows Google to crawl your shop front and blocks private pages (shopping basket, account, admin).
- SEO tags: title, description and share image on each page.
- Structured product data: prices and availability displayed directly in Google search results.
You don’t need to configure anything for these items.
Step 1 — Add your shop to Search Console
- Go to search.google.com/search-console and sign in with your Google account.
- Click on ‘Add a property’, select ‘URL prefix’ and enter the full address of your shop (e.g. https://ma-boutique.winslor.com).
- In the list of verification methods, expand ‘HTML tag’: Google will display a tag containing a code.
- Copy only the code value (the ‘content’ attribute, e.g. abC123…), not the entire tag.
- In your Winslor admin panel → Settings → General, paste this value into the ‘Google Search Console Verification’ field, then click Save.
- Please wait 1 to 2 minutes, return to Search Console and click ‘Verify’.
If you’re using a subdomain ending in .winslor.com, please make sure you use the ‘HTML tag’ method: DNS verification won’t work, as the winslor.com domain isn’t yours. If you’ve connected your own domain, you can also verify via DNS — see Connect my domain name.
Step 2 — Submit your sitemap
- Once the property has been verified, open the ‘Sitemaps’ menu in Search Console.
- Simply enter sitemap.xml in the field, then click ‘Submit’.
- Google will read the list of all your pages and start crawling them; the status will change to ‘Successful’ within a few hours.
Step 3 — Wait
Indexing takes time: it’s normal for a new shop to take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. Google first crawls the main pages, then the products. You can track progress in Search Console → ‘Pages’ (how many are indexed) and ‘Search results’ (your first impressions).
- Share your shop (on social media, in your email signature): backlinks help Google find you.
- For a major product, request that it be indexed using the ‘URL Inspection’ tool in Search Console.
Frequently Asked Questions
Validation has failed.
- Please check that you have pasted just the code value, not the entire tag.
- Please wait 2 minutes after logging in to Winslor, then try again.
Do we have to do this all over again for every new product?
No. Once the property has been verified and the sitemap has been submitted, Google will return to crawl the site automatically, and the sitemap will update itself.
I set up a custom domain after the fact.
Repeat step 1 for the new domain: this is a separate property for Google. Your old .winslor.com address automatically redirects to the new domain, so Google will consolidate them automatically.
